Paralegal/independent contractor

 

This position is for a paralegal as an independent contractor. The successful candidate will provide representation in the areas of human rights, employment law, and landlord and tenant. Must be self-motivated, assertive, willing to learn, and to meet deadlines in a service-oriented environment.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide representation in the areas of human rights, employment law, and landlord and tenant law

• Communicate clearly and effectively

• Must demonstrate the ability to analyze complex legal information and to present same comprehensively and accurately, both orally, and in writing

• Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions

• Must be detail-oriented

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher

• Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and carry Errors and Omissions Insurance

• A minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in mediation, settlement conferences and appearing before judges, and adjudicators
